  • MITI plays a key role in positioning Malaysia as a preferred investment destination and among the most globally competitive trading nations by 2020. In addition to overseeing and implementing international trade and industrial policies, the Ministry is also responsible for encouraging foreign and domestic investment, strengthening international trade of Malaysia’s manufacturing products and services and enhancing national productivity and competitiveness in the manufacturing sector.

  • As the Government’s principal agency to promote Malaysia’s manufacturing and services sectors, MIDA’s roles include assisting companies which intend to invest in those sectors and facilitating the implementation of their projects.

    The agency also provides information on investment opportunities and assists companies which are looking for joint venture partners. Additionally, MIDA evaluates applications for projects in the manufacturing and services sectors, including:

    • Manufacturing licenses
    • Tax incentives
    • Expatriate posts
    • Duty exemptions on raw materials, components, machinery and equipment
