EPP 1.0 - Attracting 100 Of the World’s Most Dynamic Firms within Priority Sectors

Through the specially created agency InvestKL, this EPP aims to transform Greater Kuala Lumpur (KL)/Klang Valley (KV) into one of the world’s top investment destinations by attracting 10 multinational companies (MNC) a year to establish their operations in Greater KL/KV Malaysia. This EPP also supports the ETP by focusing on drawing MNCs operating within the 12 National Key Economic Areas (NKEAs).

InvestKL will focus on quality investments from areas such as service and knowledge-intensive industries, high-technology industries, and green and alternative energy technologies to support Malaysia’s transition into a high-income economy.

Highlights

  • To date, InvestKL has successfully attracted multinational companies with approved and combined investments of RM4 billion. These investments are projected to create over 6,000 jobs.
  • In 2014, InvestKL attracted 14 MNCs to invest in Greater KL and set up regional headquarters, global share service centres as well as principal hub operations.
