  • Projected jobs by 2020

This EPP sees the implementation of the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) programme to improve the agriculture sector through the Green House Agriculture Programme.

The Green House Agriculture Programme uses MIMOS’ Sensor technology and Wireless Communication System from KONTRON, a German multinational designer and manufacturer of embedded computer modules, boards and systems.

Highlights

  • A proof of concept on wireless sensor network technology for precision agriculture led by the National Centre of Excellence for Sensor Technology in 2011 has resulted in a pilot programme for an intelligent greenhouse system with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, as well as the commercialisation of an intelligent palm pollination system with Felda; a pilot shrimp farm management system with Blue Archipelago; a premium fish breeding pilot programme with Aqua Grow; and a pilot algae integrated management system with Algaetech International.
  • MIMOS is working with industry partners on at least four high-impact projects which will see their wireless sensor network products taken into commercial applications.
