In view of Malaysia’s move to boost foreign direct investment and lure multinational to use Malaysia as a base to expand regionally, it is therefore imperative that Malaysia takes advantage of the positive effects on professional services industry such as accountancy.
Led by Sunway TES Sdn Bhd, the Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence can play a key role in building Malaysia’s accountancy talent pool by incorporating professional accounting qualifications into existing accounting degree programmes offered by public and private institutions of higher learning.
- In 2014, 262 professional accounting graduates were produced by Sunway TES.
- Collaborations were established between Sunway and the International Islamic University Malaysia, University Sains Malaysia and the University of Malaya to enable accounting students to pursue professional accounting qualifications while still completing their degrees.
- Sunway TES also played a role in nurturing 173 high potential Bumiputera students to pursue accounting qualifications.
